Brian C Miller Richard (REE-SHARD)
is a distinguished filmmaker whose artistry is heavily influenced by his Cajun upbringing in South Louisiana. After refining his skills at the International Film School of Sydney, Australia, he returned to Louisiana to direct a series of award-winning commercials and establish his own production company, Construct Films.
Brian's feature directorial debut, LOST BAYOU, premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival to widespread critical acclaim. The film's exceptional reception has continued to garner accolades at festivals around the world. Prior to its success, LOST BAYOU was selected for the 2018 IFP Narrative Lab Project, and received a coveted grant from the Duplass Brothers.
Brian's innovative approach has yielded noteworthy achievements in the advertising industry as well, exemplified by the creation of the award-winning feature musical documentary, THE OFFLINE PLAYLIST, for Spotify and New Orleans Tourism, which garnered a Silver Lion at the 2021 Cannes Lions.
Beyond his directorial accomplishments, Brian has produced several films, including SHAPELESS, which debuted at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival. As a cinematographer he is a recipient of the Best Cinematography award at the 2014 New Orleans Film Festival for his work on Garrett Bradley's BELOW DREAMS, which premiered at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival. Brian has also lent his talents to Bradley's award-winning short film AMERICA, which debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival.
